Captured 5/24/18, not far from home. I don't know the name of this particular type of tree.
And pardon the anthropomorphism, but it looks like the tree lost its lunch.

when I first saw these, I too thought the tree lost its lunch! Either that or it's melting. (Helle's got that covered.) Great capture of an amazing sight. I've seen all kinds of tree roots, but this is the most "splash-like". Like it just melted on the bottom, and oozed all over the place. Fine shots, Harry, and I love the detail. And I see you gave us two of the same tree. Glad to see this is a series: This is a terrific start.
