Description

A still render for my 2nd year project when I was at the Animation School in Cape Town. This image was inspired by the series of novels written by Robert Jordan entitled The Wheel Of Time. I ended up having issues with my character rig and did not manage to incorporate him into the scene in time. (A character from the novels, Mat Cauthon, was meant to be sitting on the lip of the fountain playing a flute.) I was not very happy with how the water in the fountain turned out, but I was still learning how to create water using Bifrost in Maya. Despite the short-comings I still had a ton of fun creating this image. Everything was done in Maya, and textured in Photoshop. The ivy growth was done using a free (and totally awesome) Ivy Generator by Thomas Luft
