Amazing detail man! Only point of a improvement are the stars, it looks like they are in front of the planet in the background. But....wouldn't it be great to render it in radiosity?? Would take at least 4 weeks or so, but the results would be absolutely photorealistic!

A good model, but pity about the poor quality cutout. Why not drop the backgroun image as a backdrop into c4d and render with it in situ- saves a heck of a lot of work and you get a perfect comp. I'd also tone down or put some 'atmospherics' over the planet- it jumps out too much.

hi shademaster. without Radiosity the rendertime was 50 hours (@16000*9000) on a dual AMD. That's why i'll not try this. In front of the planet are some "snowflakes" but no stars!!! thank you for the comment...

Soo much detail, wonderful job!!! I agree that the stars need more work, you could have when you spent so much time on the foreground. Otherwise...great!

You just couldn't stop could you? You did that giant model, and then you decided to model a minivan too? Great modeling! I must agree on the snowflakes: They're a bit confusing... but hey, that model... wow!

I actually think it looks good enough without radiosity. It's like a studio model from some sci-fi film. :)

The model is awesome, and the Truck also. I like the composition, but dont think, that the snowflakes are a good idea. The mapping on the drilling unit (? - Left in front?) is overwhelming. Maybe thats why the mapping of the ship itself is not so "breathtaking". 50 hours render? So how big is the c4d-file?

This is exceptional. I like the snow. If you really wanted to pull it off thought you should have accumulated snow on the topsides of the machinery. The blue windows on the truck seem out of place. Fantastic work some of the best I've ever seen.

hmmm... your ring system around the planet is impossible. tilt it to the right about 45 degrees so it lines up wih the planets rotation and you'll have it.
