A shot of bleakness, but with real pull via the lines and clarity of those open surfaces. No one is around, it seems, and we get to see only the lines of the road, the vast open sky, and the lines of that prison wall (made of large stones, a rusticated look that for some reason was very common in prison walls many years ago). I love open shots like these. Not much is "going on in them," but that makes them very peaceful and infinite.
