On cars, I was humbled in 1958 to watch the Michigan State Fair Stock Car Auto race and know that each car out there had a 348 or 350 cubic inch engine that was out of my reach. Then after the race waiting for the trophies to be awarded I walked down to the pits and was intimidated by the extensive damage to all of the cars. Wow! brand new and now like Christmas paper crumpled up and straightened a bit! When a former submariner returned from the sea with a Packard Hawk I was going to be allowed to officiate a drag race between said machine and a 1958 Chevy Biscayne 283 with 2bbl that belonged to a threat and a braggart who believed he could answer any test question without ever studying the course. Dead heat! The carburetor on the Hawk that replaced the semi downdraft Stromberg 2bbl was a 1955 Chevy Rochester 2bbl that I had rebuilt for my car before installing 4 Stromberg 48's. The Borg-Warner automatic in the Hawk was the same as the one I had helped a friend remove to replace with a stick in a 1951 Ford. The Chevy had the stock 3-speed synchromesh.

Wow! This is amazing, Richard! The Studie looks great on its own, but it looks even better in this environment. Nicely done!
