Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

The perfume bottle looks really good there.

It's nice to be appreciated occasionally isn't it!

With its large dark circle I thought at first the bottle was the TV. A very artistic display by a retired art teacher. What are the odds?

Very deceiving picture--- at first thought the bottle looks like it could have been the tv. second it appears the bottle is holding up the tv.
Thanks for sharing this fun and interesting photo.
And congratulations, this is a wonderful gift you bought, A tv in the bedroom helps us fall asleep.

I love the light, so warm and glowing. I'll skip the TV, though! We have one in the caravan of course, it comes standard, but it isn't hooked up. The one in Texas is on for sports and almost nothing else. Never the news. I haven't watched news for about 30 years, and so far it hasn't had any impact on what happens in the world.

Yeah, the juxtaposition of the screen with the top of the perfume bottle is stunning. It looks like the screen is a huge bottle top. Love the shot, love the gold-red-yellow light, love the natural light from the window (and that---what is that?---blimp-like thing under window: A submarine from Jules Verne, with a handle on top? I'm making a complete ass of myself, but what in the world is that thing?) I love how it goes from intimate interior to bright exterior. Really fine work on this.
