(the fundamental things apply as time goes by...) The song, of course, is from Casablanca, and, given that it's sung while a horrible war is going on, it has a timeless quality. I love the version you sent us to on YouTube. She sounds a little like Ella Fitzgerald, a voice I grew up on, as my mother studied and played jazz when I was a child...Your vision of the song is so airy and lilting. I love this robotic woman who is still very human; the metallic tiger-stripes flow well across the curves of her body; and the flesh undertones are wonderful contrast to the brassy silvery sections. She's posed as if balancing on a wire (she's balancing on space, in fact), and I love how she's turned away from her path, as if someone suddenly called her. Great straight hair too....With the stylized stars and moon, it has a very graphic quality. Beautiful response to the song, Dee, and the birds are visual balance, as well as beautiful birds in their own right...I guess I should say 'play it again, dee' ("sam" didn't quite fit...)
