I know nothing about Maya, but from a pure render point of view, I'd say very cool, except perhaps some texture on the wall/roof and a source for that light that's on the back wall...I like objects and the sense of space...

The light is not perfect from my point of view. You should use radiosity, global illumination, or volumetric lighting, or dome of light, maybe with soft light settings, and decrease "ambient light". This will increase the depth feeling, and will give you some very smoothed shadows. I can't help about maya possibilities, but I'm sure it's very powerful
