Description

And the last bits of the magic from the time long gone lit up for the last time. The snow rose above what was left of a once great king. Whatever it was that killed him centuries ago, it wasn't powerful enough to destroy his magic completely. Some grains remained for generations, buried under the snow.

Not sure I get it? Did the magic wait, until the king decayed into a skeleton? Did the magic happen immediately and if so, why is the King 'boney'? Generations buried under the snow, wouldn't that preserve the kings flesh?

When the king died, centuries ago, his body retained some of his magic, not allowing it to decay. Now that the two main characters uncovered his body, the magic finally left his body completely, turning it into the skeleton he was supposed to become if not for that magic.
