This, Barb, is a knockout. A great dramatic breathtaking image, with a touch of tongue-in-cheek. I love the dramatic lighting on the gargoyle/dragon; and the deep gothic shadows in the clouds (cut into by lightning strokes). I love the birds up there, and the way the lightning almost cuts the sky into rough-hewn marble. But the concept of that woman---with wings and umbrella!---standing on that gargoyle, wayyyyy up there, looking in the sky as if the only thing she's concerned about is 'getting wet'---this is terrific. (If I were up there, my main concern would be to get outa that place alive.) But I guess when you have wings, you can relax a little. Terrific dramatic piece, it's a cliffhanger, and your light is terrific; and her deep red tints (in her wings), as well as the red on her top (bustier?) make great standout contrasts to all this stormy gray. In fact your grays have a slight purplish tint. Also, this has your usual terrific choices on her clothes, boots, etc. I even love the umbrella! Terrific piece, Barb.
(Here---this has nothing to do with your image, per se, but it's of a great photographer from the 20th c---Margaret Bourke-White---on a Chrysler Bldg gargoyle in NYC. You'd never get me up there...but this is a famous shot. If you haven't seen it, you can at least see why I chose it. If the site throws up an ad, just get it out of the way: Getty Images aren't too friendly on the web; but it's the only copy I could find outside of Pinterest. the first gargoyles I seen as a young boy really scared me. I did not even know what they were. I must have missed the class.
