As usual, E, you have created a complex character. I think she grew up in a low-rent trailer park, and didn’t do very well in school. She’s pretty and has a pleasant figure, so she got hired on at the “nice” dance club at a little over minimum wage. She’s proud to be a dance girl, and not have to work as a maid or in a fast-food joint. The job provides a woman who does her hair and makeup and she gets to wear nice clothes, which makes her feel like a star. In her off hours she watches chick flicks and dreams of being discovered by a wandering movie producer. She believes her chances of getting noticed are better at the dance club than if she was slinging burgers. Her boss wishes Ava would remember to not chew gum while she’s working.
Shoot. This girl is inspiring, E! Maybe I’ll write a little story to go with her.
