Description
I had to have my dear dog Eve euthanized today. she could not stand to eat or drink water. she could not sit as dogs normally do. I had her about 10 years. she was a very sweet dog. not the first that I had to have been euthanized. I hope Bodie lives many more years. both are about the same age.
it was difficult to get her into a dog cage that I place on a trailer hitch platform. I had to lift her hind quarters. she had to have been in lots of pain. she weighed 76 pounds

I am so sorry about your loss of Eve. It sounds like she might have had a stroke--just a guess, but that's what happened to my Chloe and the symptoms sound the same. I too hope your Bodie has many more good years in him...hope he takes the loss of his friend ok...

A wonderful and moving image and memory for your sweet friend and companion Eve. It's always a heartbreaking thing to do, but it sounds like she was in a lot of pain. My deepest condolences in this loss, Richard.

I see all your photos the days they go up; but sometimes I miss the full descriptions...I didn't see that your dog Eve had to be put down. I'm very sorry. It's a big loss, as dogs are family: I'm very sorry you had to do that. The dog owners I know say that that drive to the vet is one of the longest, saddest drives they'll ever make. I hope Bodie has a much longer life...
After many of your train shots, this is a bleak and wonderfully empty shot of the long expanse of tracks that seem to go nowhere. Without any trains, any cars, people, anything to give this 'reference', it's a long stretch into infinity. And the overtone of the shot is a kind of hazy afternoon blue-gray. Very moody, quiet shot, with a feeling of a sleepy 'forever' to it. Very effective and suggestive.
