Description

Captured 1/3/15. The glasses were placed atop a large drafting board lying on my bed, which should explain the presence of the quilt in the photo. Postwork on this one involved carefully eliminating the incidental window frame shadows, and increasing the contrast and brightening of image. I must have hundreds of similar eyeglass and shadow shots.

Back at last for another session. I can't possibly comment on everything I missed, in one session, but I'll try to do a representative sampling. I've seen every piece, no matter what. It's been a pleasure just to look...but now, some comments...

Great to see these back again. I don't remember many of your eyeglass shots being this boldly "squared". The two glasses make for very square, almost boxy shapes, and they fill the image beautifully. The shadows are wonderfully thick, enhanced with the reflections from the glass. Your crop helps bring out the bold shapes too (you gave it a fairly tight crop, which is a perfect choice). I wouldn't have guessed this was a drafting board, because of the texture: From the photo, it looks like it has a slightly striated texture---which looks great. The little tufts of quilt on 2 sides just peek through, enough to root the image. Another wonderful study in this series.
