If someone only saw your flower shots---all of them, roses included---they'd never believe that this series comes from the same person. I love this whole abandoned footwear series. This image bristles with detail and high contrast brights with dark shadows and sides. The closeup of the gravel makes it look almost electrified. And the sandals: Great detail on the webbed fabric on the sole, and that beaten-to-hell strap. Love the detail on that! This sandal sings...and fine shadow from it too. This looks like it's in a very heavy sunlight---it can't be noon because of the shadow, but it is very intense and bleaching. A terrific piece in this exceptional series. (I've seen every one...)
