I usually take my time to answer to all comments, in this case..this will be my thank you!!!
OOOOOK, even though I am not pleased with the outcome of this render, I do hope you enjoy my effort and maybe "someone" can help me figure out why this looks so grainy...
I'll Share a little what I did but, you'll need to click on Full Image to see what I am talking about..

Thank You Eekdog!!

I see what you mean in the full image... unfortunately I only use Poser so I can't help. As for the image, it took me a bit to get around to her eyes... I was distracted by other delectable parts... but I'm afraid "see no evil", not exactly... she looks like she's up to not good to me!
OkrimSlava
Excellent Render.

I think maybe your being o er hard on yourself my friend it looks pretty cool to me

Yeah, iray lighting is tricky. Normally Iray has problems with low or warm lighting, which is not the case here. I tend to switch off the cam light because I can not controller that light too well and rather "underlight" my scenes. To compensate I change the ISO value to 200 - 500. Lighting scenes with spheres is a good way of lighting indoor scenes (a main sphere and 1 - 2 node instances, size to vary light intensity.) For outdoor scenes I use HDRI skies, but hide the ceiling and you get a good indoor daylight, too.
Try to find the sun dial under render settings, iray: the tip of that dial can be moved to control the direction of sunlight which is great for light through windows. Hope this helps.

I do see what you mean about the image, but I still think it's a very lovely render!
romangirl
That's a very inviting look in her eyes! Great character

I have seen numerous renders from d. studio that is grainy. looks like Poser superfly without the right lighting .
I still enjoyed seeing her very much. quite sensual
Echidnaean
Sexy render!

She looks sweet... try adding another light with a warmer color spectrum orange-like across from the blue light so your character will have like both cool-warm skin tones. I can't help with DS... lighting is all weird from what I'm used with, renders take hours instead of minutes, requires powerful graphic card... no can do for me. Hopefully some of the great DS artists here step in and share some their tips to help with this. Best of luck! =)

Excellent!

Well, I'm no expert with DS - I've used Poser mostly for the last 9 years, but I know the Iray lighting can be a challenge. I've found sometimes I get better results if I set the render to scene only lights rather than dome and scene. I usually turn the camera headlamp off - although it should go off when other lights are added when set to auto.
I also crank the maximum iterations way up, and increase the maximum time to around 100,000 minutes. If it's a complicated scene, I'll let it render overnight. I've found that to help keep the render from being so grainy.

This is actually very nicely done. For the graininess, as RobS suggested, check the maximum render time. It may have timed out before the picture was really finished.
Kordouane
Very beautiful creation: character, pose, decor, light and depth of field well done

Stay away from emissive light's.

Hmmmm.....do I recall you saying that to me before and I just tripped over my brain forgetting that?

Looks like a lot of good advice, but a couple more things to think about. Starship64 mentioned the time and timing out. Very important to let the render "burn" for several hours depending on how fast your Graphics Card is! Size of the render can also be important. 1920 x 1080 will give you a full screen finished product that fills a 16 x 9 display of most users. Definitely turn off the camera light as RodS said and turn on Scene lights only. . . dome light can really complicate things. There are really a ton of things you can do and it may take you a while to learn the important ones. . . it does take a little time (duh!) Last thought here, after you have set up your scene, switch to NVIDIA Iray display instead of Textured with the little display icon at the top right of your work area where the camera selector/view selector is located. I should give you a good working display of how your lighting is working and you can adjust it on the fly. Finally you might find an image in the galleries that you really like by another artist and ask that artist if he/she would share their light settings with you. Most of us are only too happy to help out. Good luck.

Beautiful, grainy or not!

I also have problems with grainy renders. Still a very good image!

I agree with all the suggestions and would add that sometimes one texture in an image seems to clash with the others. I've seen this several times. If you can isolate the one that won't work with the image and replace it, your settings will be easier to adjust. I've only been using DS for about 7 months so I'm still learning a lot but I have seen one skin texture or one outfit texture cause the image to render grainy. Low lighting is something I haven't mastered yet and always gives me grainy results so I might use some of the hints you've received here.

Nice Render! My experience is, that in IRAY Grain is often seen, when the scene is poorly lit (which is not the case here) or when you use indirect lighting (the light isn't hitting the main object, but first a wall which throws back the light to the main object. Light which has to travel through glass may as well produce grain and prolonged render times.
In some cases I found, that emissive geometries may as well yield grainy renders (and make the render process extremely slow - probably as well due to the soft shadows, emissive Objects generate). So in your Setup I would guess, that the emissive sphere might cause the grain. Probably try "Sun and sky only" in your render settings and in the "ss sun node" select your sphere (I often go that way to have full control about the position of the sun in my renders). Of course you will get harder sadows, but see if this helps to overcome the grain...
Good Luck

wonderfully done, what a lovely girl....thanks for visiting my Gallery :))*****

way cool set and a wonderful character, great one !
indoor scenes are really challenging with iray, had same experiences as well.
try to alter the value of 'rendering quality' ... based on my experiences a value between 100 and 1000 will do the trick in most cases. for sure this extends the rendering time. feel free to contact me in case of further questions.

Beautiful! Rooms get really grainy for me too, helps if you take down unseen walls for me
