Description

The trio settled down under Coran’s magical shelter as evening fell, having traveled nearly non-stop the remainder of the day, but still several hours short of their goal… the legendary Standing Stone. Both Coran and Taenya understood the implications of Willow’s offer to “escort” them; they were effectively under arrest. The conversation during their journey had remained cordial, mostly centering around the dogma of Taenya’s faith, but as twilight approached they found a small clearing not far from the road where Coran called the oddly opposite, though almost equally beautiful women, to him and activated the shelter. Though Taenya had seen it the previous night, Willow found it rather amazing, especially when her trusted stead, Storm, who has been left outside, snorted and struck at the dome with his hoof in alarm. Coran motioned for her go to the distressed animal, and she passed through the shimmering dome without resistance, despite the horse’s inability to penetrate it. She then retrieved her bedroll and a few other possessions before dismissing the beast back to its celestial realm to await her next summons, causing it to wink out of existence, and returned inside the dome without resistance. Where Coran explained that only those inside the shelter when activated could pass through it, all others, weather and even missiles were blocked. They sat down to a shared meal, Willow’s offer of hardtack, hard cheese and dried fruit being trumped by Coran’s elven bread and Taenya’s darker, drow version made with mushroom flour and dried mushrooms, however the paladin did contribute a skin of rich ale that came from the Abby of the Golden Sheaf, a farm-temple to Chauntea where she had been raised after her parents were killed during the Times of Trouble; much like Coran’s own. Willow and Coran noticed that throughout the night Taenya frequently glace at the moon as it rose, until it crested the treetops and shown down fully into the clearing when she announced; “I must make my prayers to Eilistraee now.” Both monk and paladin expected her to sit in quiet contemplation, recite a litany, chant or sing a hymn, or excuse herself to seek solace under the moonlight, but were stunned when she stripped naked before them, took up her sword, which returned to its full size, and step outside where she planted the sword, tip down, into the ground in the center of an open area. With the others watching in fascination, she began to sing a haunting beautiful, wordless melody as she started to circle the sword in a graceful dance that bordered on erotic. Both her song and dance increased in tempo with each rotation until she reached a truly frantic pace, then she suddenly collapsed to her knees in supplication for several long minutes, before turning her face up to the moon with a look of absolute gratitude and fulfillment. Finally raising and retrieving her sword, she returned to the shelter and sheathed her sword, which returned to dagger size, then sat back between the others, showing no interest in redressing or the slightest qualm about being nude in front of them. “Do you always pray like that?” Willow inquired with a coy smirk, her eyes devouring her nubile body hungerly. “Whenever possible we perform a Circle Dance under the moonlight,” Taenya advised, with a coy smile of her own, well aware of what aspect the paladin was really interested in. “Of course, at the temple we do so together… each taking the lead in turn.” “And you do this naked?” Willow questioned, finding it hard to believe that a goddess would require such a display. “Absolutely,” the drow replied emphatically, as if it was obvious. “We bare ourselves… body and soul… before Eilistraee, offering our song and dance for her pleasure.” Then she looked to Coran with a capricious grin, before lunging toward the stunned paladin with nearly unnatural grace, seizing her head in her hands and planting a passionate kiss on her lips, just as she did to him the previous night… and he knew all too well where this was bound to end up.
