Well, thank you for shearing this story.The illustration is right on. Now Questions, Mitch is Mishtali, right? The spear Lyra wants for, the letters of Ann's father is the same for witch Darina was killed? Now we know how these two met. Well done, RP.

Yes, the spear is the same spear. And I'll give a spoiler on that because I don't know if I will get to the point of posting that explanation. There is no spear. It's a secret way for immortals to send messages. They will send someone to pick up (or steal) the spear and give them a picture. The image of the spear will have runes from a spell. Certain ones will be wrong and those would form a message. If there is no picture, like with Darina, the messenger or thief is to be killed.
