Description

My second waterfall image. This one was way harder to create than "Rauros" because of the camera-angle but, I think it turned out nicely. There are, though, some things I don't like so comments and helpful ideas would be appreciated :) Thanks for viewing :) -Thomas

I love your POV, the surrounding foliage and rock is fantastic. The only thing I might change is the water texture at the top of the falls. But Ive never been close enough to a beautiful waterfall to see the water at the top either :)

Oh man this is awesome. I'm not sure I'd mess with it to change a thing, but I sort of agree with Tammy that the water might need something...Maybe a plane covered with a pebble/rock texture under clearer water. The mist is just fantastic. The POV and all the other aspects are A+. I think this is actually one of the best I've seen...very real. You did great!!!

This is very good. I agree with the replies above about the water. maybe try using a foamy water material and give it some motion blur. I think that would give the impression that it is moving swiftly. overall this is one of the best waterfall pics I have seen.

Excellent image! Did you use a combination of alpha planes or straight vue?

This is fantastic,.....the mist is excellent ! I agree with the others about the top water,...maybe a little more specularity and reflectivity,...I dunno. But once again the mist is superb. How do you do it ? I just tried to do an image with fog and heavy haze but failed miserably, I just began using Vue about 3 months ago and I love it, but as far as doing a misty scene like this,....I am vexed in the extreme. Good job, I look forward to your next image.

Hi thomas, this is like your first waterfall extremly well done, most thing about the water has been said, so i was thinking of the texture of the rock closest to the camera, maby you could rotate the texture, iIm not sure if it would be better, but it feels kinda strange right now.. I hope you dont mind me saying this, since I know that not all like to get comments about possible improvments.

Thomas, I have to agree with the others... This is one of the bestz waterfall images I've ever seen. About the water everything's been said, so I don't know what else could be improved besides this. Excellent work!!!

all right... Great POV and excellent textures on the boulders... now time to nitpick... 1st, the edge of the waterfall is still too straight Tom, maybe u should make it a bit curvy or irregular... second, the mist is a bit too high i think and like the others saidm it should be reflecting sunlight a bit more... and speaking of which, when the sunlight is refracted through a fine mist of water, a rainbow is created... at least that's wat i've seen in some of the waterfall i've seen... how would u make it? i'll leave it all up to u :P

sigh... I'm not sure I'll ever get good enough to fix all your critic-points. I've been doing some research and many waterfalls are actually this straight... But i'll see if I can fix it next time :)

WOW! Images like this inspire me to render, render, render - and maybe one day, in about 100 years, I might be half as good :) Well done!
