I wanted a black lion - I took the Hivewire Lion tawny texture into Photoshop and modified it, darkening it and layering that with the tawny texture to add some coloring back in. First I desaturated the texture then darkened it. I layered the tawny texture on top and erased what I didn't want to show. I "cut" the nose from the tawny texture and used the paw pads from the black leopard. After I got the coloring I wanted on the mane, I manually painted the ruff to blend better with the forehead. I kept the tawny eyes and used the white lion's whiskers. I'm pretty happy with how this turned out and am interested in what you think. Rendered in Daz Studio, Iray.
