Doesn't this remind you of the classic 1951 film, "The Day the Earth Stood Still?" Klaatu barada nikto!
The extraterrestrial visitor Klaatu had landed on a Washington DC lawn and was shot by a nervous soldier when he reached out his hand offering some kind of peace object to the earth representatives.

It does indeed remind me of the old '50s and '60s Sci-Fi movies. I can just hear them asking "Take us to your leader" and the US Boarder Patrol responding "We have a zero tolerance policy... we have to lock you up and send you back where you came from!"

A great scene you've created, my friend.
That is one of the all-time classic films, and one of my favorites. It was unique in that it did not portray the aliens as the bad guys for once.
