Always enjoy your abandoned footwear and wonder how they got there. It's a mystery.

People don't like to wear shoes in your neighborhood.

Harry, I'm at an hour and 10 minutes, and, due to my arm and shoulder, I have to stop for now; so I've skipped ahead to get at least something near the present. I loved this when it went up, and I haven't commented on a shoe shot today, so here goes...Again you've found what most photographers never even look for; and I've LOOKED for shoes and still haven't found them. (I have to leave my neighborhood to find them: This neighborhood is way too snooty to have sneakers laying around...) Another great find on your part, and I love the textures, light, shadow, soiling, etc, all of which you captured very sharply and with great presence. The top shoe is the 'hello' shot: We see it looking at us, so to speak. And with straight grass all around it, it seems the most user-friendly of the bunch. And it has some sheen too, and lots of character---as with the above, these aren't in bad shape! The last 2 shots are the shoe's sides, with terrific soil and sand on them, and with great light and all those weird---what, spikes? cleats? big rubbery bouncy cleats? I've never seen cleats that shape and texture. The texture of the ground, with sand and leaves and grasses, twigs, etc, is as fine as the shoe itself. So you end the "establishing shot" (a film term) with studies of the shoe's side. Terrific trio, with great detail. I'll be back for more soon, but I at least got to a decent number tonight. And btw, I read that article on the name of the LDS church (they're gonna kill me for writing it that way!), and it was fascinating. I guess they're undergoing an image change...Anyway, terrific work as always, Harry.
