Description
The Castle de Tardes is located in the commune of Saint-Macaire, in the Gironde department of France. This castle located in the heart of the old town, rue du Port Nava, was originally a five-storey medieval fortified house, built around the 12th or 14th century and later transformed into a Renaissance style mansion house with, among other things, the addition of mullioned windows and, in the 19th century, a troubadour style hexagonal tower containing a spiral staircase.
