Description

Giraffes are so beautiful & graceful, their coats were so shiny & they looked so well. Our tallest residents at YWP, we have two subspecies of Giraffe, two Reticulated Giraffe, one endangered Rothschild’s Giraffe and one hybrid. Giraffe are arguably the most fascinating animal in the world, from an evolutionary view they are extremely well adapted to their environment. For example, did you know that Giraffe have black/blue tongues to avoid getting sunburnt and their special system of veins in their neck stop them getting a rush of blood to the head when they bend down. Giraffes are truly wonders of nature...not only is their tongue a dark blue, it's up to 20 inches long! Evolution creates some amazing creatures, all of which are adapted to their environments....now if we could allow these creatures to live without human interference and to live in their own God-given unspoiled environments...thanks again for sharing your experience...
