Description
Hi everyone.
I post this every so often on Jewish holidays, and I wanted to post it again. It's a menorah--a Jewish candelabra--which I painted eons ago for my father. Tonight is Rosh Hashanah--the Jewish New Year--so I post it again.
I'm not a religious Jew, but I wanted to wish everyone of every faith, and no faith, of all backgrounds, histories, ethnicities and aspirations, as much light and sweetness as this universe can grant you; and may the sweetness and light that I've seen in all of you--many, many times--speak to you, lift you and embrace you in your darkest moments...and may we all be a blessing to each other, each day, and let the spirit of holidays fill everyone across the globe...
A personal note;
I commented here a couple of weeks ago, and will comment again this week. I've been absent a lot for work, my sister (who has cancer again), but mostly to rest. My arm and shoulder will need therapy, and there's been talk of 'surgery' (dread, dread): If I can do it without, I will. But this is why I'm absent. My dedis will be a shorter too, unfortunately; long, long projects are difficult for me now. But I'll be here regardless; and I see everything you post, everyday, without fail.
Finally: I'm not leaving RR. I say that because more and more of us have. In the years I've been here, I've had galleries on DeviantArt, Flickr, Freesound, and a few others (in other arts); and I've renewed my small gallery on flickr because it's good to be seen in more than one place, as many of you have for some time. But I'm not doing much to get 'known' there; therefore I get 2, 3 comments if I'm lucky, and that's ok. It's a second small showing, and I want that. But I want you to know this place--RR---is family to me; it always has been and always will...
A wonderful week to you all, and thank you for all your blessings over these years! I'll be visiting soon; lotsa love, peace and inspiration to you all, Mark

A beautiful and thoughtful greeting, Mark. Take care of your arm and hopefully the therapy will work so you don't have to get "cut on". I'm still limiting my computer time because of my elbow, so I can sympathize, in a minor way, with your trouble. Short comments are perfectly acceptable and none until you get better and have time are also fine. Make sure you take the time you need for rest in the middle of all the other things you are doing. All the Best to you.

It's so great to see your art and your words (in the majority of cases they are the same) This is a beautiful painting. I hope for a successful non-surgical recovery for you arm and shoulder. also sending warm and healing thoughts to your sister for a speedy recovery. Take care of yourself and I wish you and your family a wonderful and peaceful Rosh Hashanah

Hey, I remember that menorah! Great bit of art there. Thanks for the sentiments, and I echo the above. Actually, I'm not a religious Jew either. In fact, I'm anti organized religion all around. But that's a personal thing with me from past experience. Anyway, thanks for the greeting and for the update on your status.

Shana Tova, Mark! Wonderful modeling and beautiful vibrant colors. Ask your doctor if yoga or range of motion exercises will help your shoulder.
I've been receiving a newsletter that provides info on what's going on in Jewish Europe. Lots of restoration work going on at old synagogues and such. You might find some of it interesting.

Mark, this really is a beautiful painting, mesmerizing, filled with vibrant rich colors, and each flame has a unique inner glow. I also love the blue background which is such a gorgeous contrast, and gives the feeling of the Universe. It is fitting you would create this as you are the healing light that touches so many here at RR. After being here for 15 years, I also feel this place is family and would not want to leave. I'm so sorry to hear your sister has cancer again and she is in my healing thoughts. As are you, with your shoulder and arm challenges. I wish you and your family a beautiful New Year celebration and thank you for sharing your light and warmth and love with us.

outstanding painting and happy new year. I have been here since 2003 officially but was hanging out long before that. been a few times of less than desirable people, but for the whole those few does not count for a hill of beans

Hey, Mark!! Good to see a post from you, buddy! This is such a lovely menorah painting - so full of color and light. Really well done, my friend!
I am SO glad you're staying on, bro. So many wonderful artists and photographers have left. I have to confess, I was pretty depressed when I saw Tara's last post, saying she was leaving. That one hurt.
I know I've threatened to leave a couple times - notably right after that 'revolution' they pulled a couple years ago. But I've found that patience and helpful criticism goes a long way. They do listen, and they do eventually get all the problems fixed. It's in Rendo's best interest to have things working smoothly, and they realize that.
I have galleries on DA,, Fantasy Attic, DAZ, Redbubble, Pixels, and a few others. At most, I'll get 5 or 6 comments on a piece that gets 25 - 35 here. So I'm with you, Mark. I'm here for the long haul.
I've made some awesome friends here - including you - and those relationships have enriched my life and my art / photography.
Hope things settle down for you, and you and your sister are in my prayers, my friend!

This candelabra just talks to me and saying: "greetings from the other half of the earth", [as we know it...] How irresistible not to return the 'Hello', with this presentation, the vibrancy of it is literally breathtaking, with those glowing flames going on and on, forever ! Shine a light on me !
But I have got a question Mark, what year is it now for you, following the Jewish calendar ? 2019 ? or do you actually follow two calendars ? do I seem a little confused ?, yes indeed I am. [This is a little bit tongue in cheek ! Let's just say, you are writing a business letter or one to a friend, does that depends now on what religion they are, when you date the letter ? Please excuse me Mark, asking this stupid question, but I am really interested and would like to know, the way you would be tackling this situation ? It's intriguing to me, learning about the traditions of other countries and I never want to stop learning, I might be a fool for 5 minutes by asking so many questions, still better than being a forever fool].
This is my first comment here at Renderosity now, after a long hiatus and it's been a very long haul for me so far [just over a year] since the departure of my much loved and much missed son Jeff [aka jif3d], apologies for what seems an endless road, trying to cope with every days scenarios and distractions. But thank you, for being here to greet and meet again. I would also like to send my warmest wishes for your recovery, in regards to that problematic innuendo with your arm and your dear sister's health. In Ozzie slang, don't let those turkeys get you !!!
