I remember a couch that my mother bought many years ago, she was so proud to show it off. It took all of about two to three months for our pet cat, at the time, to use the new couch as a personal scratching post. The poor couch sure took a claw beating. I'm not sure what happened to the cat, my mum is Irish after all...
