Yeah, with your son, you definitely have a feel for futuristic aircraft. Your planet has a wonderful glow around it (its atmosphere, I presume), and the light on its left edge is wonderful. This captures a "flying around the planet" feeling. The yellow jets stand out too. Fine and fun render of planes flying past a big lit planet. Fine dramatic effects.
