Description

Captured 2/4/10, back before smartphones were the big rage. That hasn't affected the pole though, it looks just the same now as it did before. Probably handles other utilities besides telephone business.

an interesting pole structure. Appears to be the remains of another earlier pole clamped to the side of the main pole

OK - this is fascinating to me.... Looks as if there's been a number of fixes, kluges, and modifications to things over the years. When I look at this, it makes me think of an old 3 Stooges short where they sent Curley up a pole to rewire the circuits. The end result looked much like this pole!

A delightful capture!

Your son noted the extra chunk of pole there---good seeing. It's like it's carrying its infant...and Rod jumped in full force. (Well, he collects insulators---which you've seen in his gallery---so he probably knows a lot about these structures!) Yeah, to my dumb eye, it DOES look like a telephone pole after Curley got through with it. Love the mish-mosh of lines and confluences. And messiness of it. So, for all the empty space above it, it's pretty intensely crowded. Fine geometric study, Harry. I've not seen a pole with this much going on in it, here in Chicago...

in one respect, I see this as something I would find in a neater section of Hong Kong or some other place in Asia
