Description
It seems that the way towards producing the kind of 3D Manga that I am after is to scale back a little on the detail. There's another version of this shot with all the outside details and trees and what not, but what I am finding is that it's overkill when it comes to crafting a narrative image. I think sometimes that 3D fails when it comes to creating anime that works is that it can end up being too detailed. When it comes to Anime/Manga, I have noticed that most artists include just enough detail to get the point across but there comes a point where it takes away from what you want the reader to focus on. I whited out the windows in this image and it actually helped more than it took away from the final result.

What really needs to happen is a Cartoon Rendering Engine for Iray or 3DL. Post working tends to be too realistic. I agree. It still looks nice regardless.
