Excellent work on this scene. He looks like he's enjoying the outing...she not so much :) I especially like that little puppy--they better watch him carefully so so he doesn't fall overboard!

Indeed, sailing season is almost over for another year.
A very beautiful and melancholy artwork, my friend. Nicely done.

Very nice, but for some reason I can't help seeing the pup overboard in shark infested waters, lol, sorry. I blame it all on you for putting him on the boat...

sweet, but never say last, it made me sad - it has been a long time since I have sailed, but I refussed to thing it was my last. This old man was born of the sea, and will return there one day!

(it's 6 in the morning and my next door neighbor is playing football songs! just what you wanna hear at 6 in the morning---rah, rah, football songs...lol, ah well...) A really beautifully lit and colored piece. The blues on the man's pants, and their white splotches, the light blues of the woman's lower sleeve (I assume that's underneath her blouse) and her shorts, the pale whites and pinks of her pensive face, the beautiful gold-ambers of the sky, the beam of gold and a little orange next to the woman, the flare, etc etc...all beautifully done. And I love the dog there, who is happy no matter what. Your horizon's on an angle too, which gives a real compositional balance to the conglomeration of the boat itself. Beautifully done, and very suggestive of your title.
(I'm only supposed to write a few long comments right now because of my arm therapies; but it's hard to be brief here...I get these phys. therapies 3, 4 times a year ((hey, I'm almost 70!)), so I'm used to it. These are little magic tales, every one of them...)
