Description

Ok, I'm not back to comment---I will soon!---but today is a message... I go away for---what---2 weeks? And suddenly all hell breaks loose in 3D! I have no idea what happened---and I'm sure it's for good reason---but I had to say something. (Steve/eekdog---don't leave! Everyone loves you and your art!) I've been in the arts all my life, and believe me, I've had some baaaaad experiences; but I keep being crazy enough to create---even though it takes everything out of me, and some days I wonder why I bother. (Ya ever look at something you spent 2 million hours on, and think: "Man, that sucks!") I do it because, like that idiotic dog, I just gotta dance. So I present this dog (a repost) to remind us that being artists is about dance: In fact, being alive is about dance! It doesn't stop pain, loss and struggle, but it pushes away pain, loss, struggle: as in grabbing the stars and dancing around the cosmos. That's the answer. Be a divine fool! (Btw, that dog's not 'retaining water': It's just way too happy...) Yeah, here it comes: Despite madness, loss, struggles and out and out exhaustion with so much, we are recreating the cosmos every day: We're imitating the flowers---and the movement of the stars---in our lines, our composition, our choice of color and crop and light: We agonize over every detail of a tiny little image on a screen because we're crazy enough to think that making beauty is worth it. It is! We dance across the sky, make fools of ourselves, bare ourselves in front of the world---and we share so much love in the process! So, fellow artists, we're doing stuff of little 'utilitarian' value, but of boundless value, humanly: We give bucketfuls of love even in pain, loss, illness and god-knows-what; because we're in love with sharing. I get constant light and joy every day here (I look every day, whether I comment or not), so yeah, tear apart your work, go through that crazy agony because one damned line was out of place and you're ready to throw the whole thing out the window and join the Merchant Marines---we're the most intensely self-critical people of any field: Bravo, us!---but keep dancing in the streets! You guys give an ocean-full of love every day, and that's huge! I'll be back for comments soon...thanks for stopping by, you guys are grand! Love and inspiration to all, Mark (don't bother zooming, btw---it doesn't get better) ------------------

Love you graphic and your words. There have been a few issues crop up and it got to the point where I opened my files and my typing mouth to let people know where I stand. It did offend some but there you go. One of the reasons I post is, believe it or not, not for the accolades but positive/constructive criticism so I can grow in my art. and that's why I let the faux in the hen house and tipped over the boiling post. I do LOVE your line art, not to be confused with line dance (how do you dance a line? or do you dance align?) Have a great day Mark.

What a sunshine wonderful image, Mark.

Love the cat, maybe puppy can't quite tell, but it sure is a happy and joyful piece of work.

Hope all is well, and no I don't plan on leaving my friend, you and countless others here are my dear friends and I can't give up on my art also. My dear friends here and art we share holds me in sink. It's not that big of an issue here, just someone is not happy with the way I do or express my comments, unsure why, I never ever insult a fellow artist, but they feel that way I suppose. I feel we are all family here, we love and care for one another's well being and their loved ones.

This friend and artist does not want me to comment on their work, but low and behold I still will comment on their good works.

I don't hold grudges or point fingers or try and label someone a bad guy. I do not want my dear friends venting anger at anyone cause of ridiculous issues. This artist /friend will still be my friend and will still comment, just won't play into senseless messages being sent.

Nowhere in my last post did I mention their name but got flack on a email about it saying I put them down or something like that, made me feel like a bad guy for doing so.

Thanks for the cool post and it brighten my afternoon, Mark.

As the phrase goes

"""Let us all just get along""

Dag-nabbit, Mark, you've done it again! You've matched a fun, delightful, and giggle-inducing bit of imagery with a thoughtful and insightful narrative. And you know what? I love every word you've typed in your eloquent and creative way. Brilliant, my friend, just brilliant.

And FYI - I'm still trying to get that "one damned line" to get it's friggin' act together, and stop randomly stepping on pixels while I'm off on the other side of the image trying to get someone's finger pointing in the right direction. Not the middle one, though - I leave that job to Mike - he does it far better than I could! LOL

This has been a weird freakin' week, brother. I'll SM you soon.

The world has become a pretty dark place in the last few years but this small tribe keeps that darkness away with its art. Your comparison of art to dancing is interesting. Reminds me of that old saying, “Dance as if no one is watching.” An artist must first produce art for them-selves, to fulfill what is inside them. And if anyone else likes the result that is a bonus. To quote another old saying, “What people think of me is none of my business.”

Spoiler alert: I love dogs, especially dancing dogs.

Dance, ballerina, dance, and do your pirouette in rhythm with your achin' heart. Dance, ballerina, dance, you mustn't once forget a dancer has to dance the part. Just part of a ditty I recall from the mid 20th century. So, now, among your many other talents, you've now drawn a correlation between art and dance/music. Many artists compose their work in a slow, steady waltz mode, in re, exact realism, while others go van Gogh crazy with a jitterbug flash dance, devil may care composition. I'm the former. Slow, contemplative, and steady. And your gigantic dog above has taken over the world with its manic enthusiasm. Fine color and line work, bold and sassy to say the least, I must say. And whatever happened to Helle? Maybe I should send her an email.

I like dogs who dance like that, having a grand time, big fat feet flying, who don't care who's looking or what they're thinking. I also like artists like that, who express themselves in their own unique way. Artists, like dogs, give something so precious to humanity, I don't ever want to imagine a world without them.

LOL! This is such a happy fellow ans your words are so true. Ane yes I have experienced to hate a pice of art I have been working on for ages 100000 times. The last one is still standing there in shame on my easel.

I like the energy, shaking up, no matter how, who and what. I love your stimulus, and breaking the lance for everyone's unique feast of art in all its facets. Dancing over musical notes, throwing paint on real canvas, or anywhere in the programs that have anything to do with movement. And I am completely in love with the photo that Helle has placed here. This was it for now, and I will try to post something too. Haha, maybe today. Now, here you go (my 'stupid words') ;-)
