Description

An early morning shot, captured 5/16/09, of what was once known locally as the GTE building, a completely mirrored edifice. The building remains but it no longer has the GTE title. It now hosts a conglomerate of several private businesses. This shows an unintended off-kilter shot, looking straight up one of the corners of the rectangular building, with a light, not a camera, at the very top.

I love how the tree is reflected so perfectly in the glass, and that tower seems to stretch to infinity. Nice one, my friend!

Wow---Helle's here! Great to see! But for flickr's "Inktober" series (which she contributes to every year), she's not been online most of the last number of weeks---glad to see her in your gallery. This image is from one of several series you've posted of late, and I really like how you've delved into this glassy mirror-y structure, exploring all its possibilities. These corner shots are amazing for the clarity in the reflection, and the hard cold lines of the metal and glass. And the very bright sky. The leaves at top almost seem on ground level somehow---can't explain it, but you have some wonderful illusory stuff going on here. Fine study of line, sheen, reflection, light, etc. You've really gotten into the power of this single building.
