Description
At first, thank you for the nice comments and favorits to my last image: The Fate laughts with pointy teeth - Hakon aka Balder.
It means a lot to me!
For Ragnor it is undoubtedly fantastic to finally go on a big trip. First they invaded Hammaburg, now known as Hamburg. There they plundered a monastery, killed all, but a young novice named Eldert, who wanted to join them, all monastery inmates.
Then it went on to Bremon, today's Bremen. There, too, the monastery became, after the visit of the Northmen, a robbery of the flames.
After this, they plundered the court of a vassal, called the Saxon. There they killed the Saxon, the Vassal of the emperor. The employees of the court were kept in check.
Skryrmir told his youngest son Ragnor to pick a girl and have fun in the barn.
Actually, he did not want to harm a girl. Especially because Daglind was not intimidated by him. So that he does not stand in front of the others as an idiot, he asked Daglind at least a little scream. In the barn, they played with dice, and Ragnor borrowed some gold for use from Daglind.
In the end, Daglind had taken away all his gold and in gratitude she volunteered.
After this pleasure, Ragnor said Daglind she should be quiet, because his father would then think he had cut her throat. Otherwise she would run the risk of being sold as a slave.
When his father asked about the girl, Ragnor said he had cut Daglind's throat and consecrated it to the gods.
So he did not stand like an idiot before the others, and Daglind hopefully could take the gold and start a new life freely.
Sequel follows...

Charming render and charming and realistic story! Very nice of Ragnor to behave so nicely given the nature of his group! Although completely unrelated to this, I wonder why Imperial Germany felt it had to have a "Kaiser" when at the same time it celebrated the defeat of the Ceasaran armies at Kalkriese (Teutoberger Wald). You'd think they would have chosen whatever Hermann/Arminius's tribal title was thought to have been.
Crudelitas
I think you're mistaken. For Ragnor's story takes place in 814. The Varus Battle in the Teutoburg Forest took place in the year 9 AD. In the Year 814 reigned Louis the Pious, son of Charlemagne.
