Computer geek extarodinaire, I love to tinker with gadgets and tech items to get them to do what I want. I'm either logically artistic or artisically logical. I'm also rude, crude, semi-barbaric, socially unacceptable, and totally psychotic. On the bright side - I am potentially harmless. I'm currently trying to write some short stories about the fae as well as a novel on those same fae as well as two other novels. The programs I have for photo and image editing are: Photoimpact from Ulead, Adobe Photoshop 7 and Corel Paint Shop Pro 2X. Recently I've added DAZ Studios as well as Terragen, Blender and Google Sketch to my list of programs crowding my hard-drive.  All this and much more on an old Pentium III 450 with 396 Megs of memory and operating Windows XP. It does get interesting at time.As of December 26, 2008, I have added Vue 7 Pioneer to my list of reason of why I'm going insane.
As of January 2010 I upgraded to a new HP 2 dual core processor with 6 gigs onboard mem with 4 gig powerboost and 2.07 terabytes of Hard drivesMy email is faemike55@gmail.com

I don't think shadows are required, the image survives well enough without them.
eekdog
I say few shadows would be showing up on characters under a bridge. Yep he's on the ground firmly. I think he'll kick the other ones Lilly assssssss! Gr8 job.
Richardphotos
sometimes shadows that show up before rendering, disappears in the final render. cool creatures

What we don't see here is the boom-box just off camera playing "Do The Monster Mash.." 😆 OK, that was silly, and both of them are probably going to come after me now..
It really does look great, Mike. Shadows would be minimal under these conditions, if noticeable at all. I've found it actually more challenging to get shadows looking right under relatively even subdued lighting such as here - or on a cloudy day where the sunlight is scattered and even.
But you've definitely improved this one, buddy!

Oops, Mike! I'm sorry. I just deleted my last remark here! I assumed you were using Poser, then I remembered you use DAZ. If you read what I has posted previously, just disregard it. I am not at all good at using DAZ studio, so I can't offer any helpful tips. Very nice redo of this image.

I think we can calk up Bob's feet being off the ground to being surprised at being attacked. He looks ready now and should have no trouble picking up his opponent and tossing him over his shoulder.

Wonderful job on this hon! xxx

Aye much better Mike its got more dimension this i prefer!!

Now is well place on the ground. I think Ekdog it's right, if the character it's under the bridge there wont be anymore shadows.

It's always a good idea to one's feet firmly planted on the ground when someone is lunging at you :)

For this image you can get away without the shadows there is no sun shining so it looks cool, You will know this I am sure but in environments in your render setting play with the Ground Shadow Intensity it can make a difference a wonderful image my friend :)

Bravo! That's very beautiful! Excellent!

Lighting looks good to me, they're under a bridge as you said, so it's normal to look dark, but still there are details in these dark areas, so it's.. good :)
jendellas
Yes I see the differences,
goodoleboy
Looks good, but any animal shadow work has to be in the foreground or closer to the front because the light source is in the back.

Did Charlie come from BOTW, because he looks a lot like an Alfos. Yep, I'm a fan of BOTW big time.

I'd struggle with shadows here too Mike. I like the concept. My imagination is going crazy here!

you really changed this---by lowering the bridge, you condensed, and therefore intensified, the confrontation between the two beasts. It makes them more intense. THen you added more on the right, including that big sign (from the back) which gives a visual balance to the two monsters, and continues the visual line from them through the sign itself. And as for shadows, I know nothing of 3D shadows and what it takes to make them; but we do feel the area is sunken in darkness natural to the area under an underpass. And the beasts almost seem remote now, because they're standing in shadow. An attack in daytime, hidden by the veil of daytime shadow. A very effective piece, Mike.

I can clearly see the changes as well.
Like the fast action going on here.
