Description

An early morning shot, captured 6/9/09, of what was once known locally as the GTE building, a completely mirrored edifice. The building remains but it no longer has the GTE title. It now hosts a conglomerate of several private businesses. The original pic on top had to be postworked due to the extreme reflection off the glass, which overwhelmed the sensor in my camera, making the scene appear to be shot at night. Hence, I adjusted the image below to what it is in real life, or at least to my naked eye. An enlargement would be to your distinct advantage.

Rod has it: In your hands, that building is a gigantic picture frame. I've seen all of this series, and you've done a spot on job of postwork bringing the shot to how-it-looks-in-reality specs. And amazing how the real view is so green, whereas the top view is more brown. The top shots, because of their distortions due to excess reflected light, have an almost eerie feeling, like something sinister is about to happen. I like them all, and the trees are very ominous in those dark silhouettes. The bottom shot is bright and green, and yeah, that facade is like a gigantic frame or mirror. You've really explored this. I remember a number of shots of this place from you, in the past; but recently you've been posting all kinds of explorations. When you put your mind to penetrating a subject, you go all out...fine work.
