Description
My first render image I would like to share here.
I was playing with the volume lights and I am pretty satisfied with the visual effect it gave. But the render times went up like a rocket and in the end the picture could have some more iterations I guess. I might have another run overnight or do some postwork.
Any feedback, suggestions or comments are very welcome! :-)
Thank you!

What do you mean, whemn you say "your first render"? ;-) hey, this is great. I like it. Only one advise: more light power. IRAY needs light.

Thank you! I will try with more light. I am playing with DAZ and render only since a few days. But I love photography, so I am happy to try out some of the ideas I had.

wonderful

looks mighty fine to me, and if the only light is from "outside" from an early morning sun rise then you would expect some gloom... the single light beam from the opened slats works well as is imho

Gorgeous image and lady... Love the dramatic lighting... Excellent why to start... Looking forward to your future postings... Welcome!

Oh wow. Masterful lighting right on the first shot.
Before you add more light sources you may want to go to the render settings, playing with the ISO value (default is 100, but I use up to 500). There you can tune the overall brightness of light in very small steps: I add in hundreds and decrease in fifties until I am happy with it).

For a slightly dark image like this, the grain from not fully itterating actually adds to the image. If you were to tune up the light for a full daylight image, then you might want some more itterations. But, the atmosphere within the image as a whole would change completely if you did that, so I'd rather suggest you leave it as it is, and maybe sometime render a bigger version.

Thanks a lot for the feedback! I guess I will get back to this idea soon and try to improve a bit more. :-)

Quite a hard-to-do scene for some first steps into the render world. I like this, it's quite dark, but one can easily adjust that in postwork. I'd go for RRun's advice and play with ISO settings. What I find quite nice are objects that emit light. Like a photographer uses light reflectors to get some diffuse light, you can achieve this by using the iray UBER shader and add some emission. This way you can setup highlights countering your main keylight plus these kinds of light-objects make bumpmaps on skins far more visible and realistic.
Happy testing! And damn, well done here!
