Description

This is the main passengers' lounge and consists of a bar, tables, dance floor and access to the pool. Again this is rather Spartan for a cruise ship but probably pretty decent for a passenger-cargo ship. Certainly not excessive. I believe this is the deck immediately above the purser's lounge. Enjoy; thanks for viewing

Interesting. In those days there where no cruise ships as we know today. But in the 'liners' there was a new class, the tourist class and i think that standard was used for the passenger accommodations..

That makes sense. Per the docent who guided us around, most merchant ships had a few cabins for passengers, so accommodation for 4-12 people was not unusual. I'm also willing to bet the décor was scaled down too.

Yes, a bit sparse.

I've never been on a cruise, so I'd have no idea.
