Looks like StuartB has the answer... Coal. I was thinking it was part of a phosphate mine, but it looks like the same silo as in Stuart's link. Great capture of it, Richard.

yes he is correct. I have a picture of the place at Page in my gallery. I have some more pictures to share of the conveyer that reaches 17 miles
