Description

This is another still frame preview from my expression sets for Daz3D's Genesis 3 models. One thing I really don't understand is why Daz don't host on their marketplace or encourage creation of expression-animations sets for their products. Sure they have expression dials and poses for different figures. But to keep away from uncanny valley you need to have a range of variations for the same expression and not just 0 to 100% pose/morph of the same expression. If you were to ask a group of 100 people to make a sad face you might end up with at least 25 different sad faces depending on anything from how expressive they are, what they perceive a sad face to be or just how good their natural control over their facial muscles are. So why should 3D models have the same cookie cutter expressions regardless of age, sex, character nature, 3D mesh, 3D weight maps, used morphs and everything else technical and from a non-technical standpoint about the character? Over here, the preview is from the "Suspicious" expression set. All of these are bone/morph based on the base Gen 3 figures. It would make a world of difference if I had the DAZ HD plugin to create expressions with fine wrinkles, minor facial distortions, that god damn eyebrow-eyelash collision fix and everything else that would make a 3D model look as expressive as a real person... Character: Aesir. Expression: Suspicious. IP: Project: STLN.
