Description

I know I do a lot of portraits. That just seems to be my thing. It's part of how I figure out a character, and sort of "get to know" them, I guess. Usually these characters end up being seen in future renders, but they always seem to start out in a portrait like this one, where I did not sit down with the intention of making them... but they showed up and helped themselves to the photo session all on their own and refused to go home. This one was also surprising for me, despite it's simplicity, because I used the G8M. I have not liked the G8's in any way shape or form since they came out. Every attempt I've made to use them has left me frustrated and disgusted, and I've wound up deleting them in aggravation and going back to Genesis 1 or 3. That did not happen this time. This time, I loaded G8M to make some poses for him (I like to "get to know" the new figures by making poses, too)... anyway, while I was working, Gregory here showed up, sat himself down, said hi I'm here to stay and you're going to paint my picture. LOL! He's made up of mixed morphs - the G8M head/body morphs from Daz, quite a few of Sickle Yield's freebie G8 morphs, and I added just a small touch of Floyd to his face to age him a tiny bit. I didn't want elderly or middle-aged, but something a bit older than the usual 20-somethings we tend to see. Anyway... I suppose that's all that, and probably more than anyone cares to read. :) Rendered in 3Delight, minor postwork in Photoshop. (Color toned, frame, and signature.)

I am impressed; I can feel a long and tortuous experience that this character went through; you expressed his soul. This is beautiful.
