Description
Addy loved to ride in the hills alone so she could enjoy the quiet and fresh air. Her dog, Lucky, usually accompanied her but, since he didn’t talk much, she didn’t mind him trailing along. Everything was going well until she rounded a pile of boulders and came face to face with a rattler. Her horse startled and reared, throwing Addy to the ground where she banged her head pretty hard. The rattler slithered away and the horse didn’t take off running, so eventually Addy was able to get back into the saddle but kept fading in and out of consciousness. She managed to get the reins over the horse’s head and Lucky (being kin to Lassie) took them in his teeth and lead them home.
I’ve had this image in my head for a while and finally got the time to smear it on the screen.

Ah, the dog! The best friend of man. Even today I read the story of the miracle horse Halla, which brought his injured rider flawlessly through the course during the Olympics. Great picture, Teri.
