When you posted this, I thought of Jr. High, and how terrifying it was to ask someone on a date. Girls would pass pics back and forth of the guys who asked them out; and I can see them doing that with this guy: "Nice rib cage! And those femurs: to die for..." I love the romeo and juliet pose, maybe he's singing her a song...and the sits on the window sill with a Don King hairdo and---is that a fan? Great job, Barb. With a crow looking on, and a great decayed wall. Perfect for the season. (And he's got a rose, right? How touching, lol. A guy who's been dead 200 years, and he brings a rose! As they said years ago: "He's a keeper!") Great piece. I love the classic lover's pose.
(You may know all this, but just in case, Halloween may have risen from the Celtic Samhain, which had a similar theme. The Church may have taken it over to put a christian stamp on it, as they did with the secular new year and Christmas. This night was to honor the dead; and I think they still have services on this night in Europe. But our childhood imagination took over and turned it into a macabre festival, with dancing skeletons and playful ghosts; and it's made special by the cold air and exquisite perfume of fallen leaves and the still lingering colors everywhere. You know that better than most, as you live in the most beautiful autumn in the world. Your images are such fun and so well done; and you capture the childhood feeling of it perfectly.)
