Description
a teenage friend had a Plymouth of the same year and had paint but not much better on a physical note. most of the time it had to be pushed to start since he could not afford a good battery I suppose. who ever was riding was expected to push. when I had a 50 Chevy with a 53 Chevy six with a shaved head would not start because the engine had too high compression, I would push by myself and jump in and kick start. a friend gave me a truck battery with higher amps and then it started fine
we were roommates at college. a friend of his , him, and myself shared a garage apartment and our rent was $45 per month. closer to campus we shared an apartment and the rent was $30 per month. I was able to eat more often then! I had a job that paid $30 per month working for the state maintaining the Engineering building at night. jobs were scarce as hen's teeth and I was glad to have it. after paying rent I had $20 for food each month

What a beauty. My first job as an apprentice mechanic I was earning £90 a week in 1982 and that was pretty good money at my age back then.
