From the Investigative Journals of Velma Dinkley Co-Investigator, Mystery IncorporatedTM 31st October 2018 - 17:07 EET Day 2 of the Borzhoza investigation. The sun will be fully set in fourteen (14) minutes. Though at this time of year, in these mountains, a darkness lingers through the entire day. Tonight I have established my base within a crypt at the local graveyard. A real creepy one too. If there is anything fishy going on, I should smell it from here. Oh come on Velma, you know this will be another long night of pirated 'Kung Fu' reruns. Er- ah-hem, back to work girl. Work, work, work. Better delete those last remarks for posterity. For now, some history. This isolated Bulgarian village was found abandoned eighty-four years ago. Starting with a late November blizzard, a "fierce and cold" winter cut it off from the outside world. No one could get in or out for over three months. For a time, neighbouring villages could spy smoke above Borzhoza from their home fires. Life was carrying on and people weren't worried. Then in mid-January these signs stopped. A week later, a strange column of soot was reported hanging over the area. It lasted for four days. Many feared that the whole village had caught fire. But when the pass was finally clear, the village was found intact with no sign of fires. The searchers found the front doors of many homes broken, bearing red diagonal streaks. And one hundred and seventeen (117) people were simply gone. Since that time those who have ventured here claim that the sight is haunted. They call it a Taxim, a wrathful undead bent on vengeance. I know the fables and how relentless such monsters are supposed to be. They say it is responsible for the disappearance of the people of Borzhoza. That it was spawned or unleashed during that time of terrible dearth. And with no aid or escape, it systematically wiped out the inhabitants. Of coarse there are many logical holes in this story. I have always been skeptical of such folklor-- JINKIES!
Happy Halloween everybody! Yes, this took six (6) days to render. Serves me right for combining motion blur with volume atmospheres. Volume step size being 0.1 inches because the flashlight beam just had to look good. Sorry, no nudi- Does the skeleton count as a naked character? I hope I don't get into trouble for that.
