Description
Just messing around trying to get volumetric lighting with Bryce. Dont know whats causing the banding though.
Both Models are from the book "500 3-D Objects"

Awesome piece! Models , mats and lighting is great! Love the mouse! I think the bending is caused by the jpeg compression. Have had the same thing on some of my images. You could try to smoothen the areas, that might help.

its not because of the compression. Not all of it anyway. It was happening while in Bryce because I was trying all the different settings and even premium didnt help. most of the banding on the left side is from compression, but everything under the bat was banding in Bryce. It might be due to transparency in the wings... thanks for the replies

Try clicking the material for the light oand lower the quality from 50 (default) to something lower. This will slow the render but increase the quality of the volume material and remove the banding.

thanks for the info Aldaron ;) I changed the value to 70 instead of 50 and there is less banding. 100 would problably leave none, but that would take forever...
