Not my usual lens for photographing birds but with a large bird like this the Canon 70-300 L does a really good job.Thanks for stopping by to take a look zoom in for a better look at the feather details

stellar capture. here they are so hard to approach even with a 300mm. there is a new lens from Sigma 70-600mm. ($1999.00). if I had the spare cash, it would be tempting

Great shot. If this was 3D and not a picture, I would have said that the bump map of the feather is not crispy enough.
