That must have been a pretty tight space. No good to be claustrophobic on these planes. That's a whole lot of hurt hanging under the tube - or was back in the day. Pretty sure those are just for display.

Very cool shot, Richard!

Imagine flying that plane in combat, with live bombs hanging all around you while people are shooting at you.

Nice shot, it does me remember that i once made a model of a B-29 scale 1/48. The model of the B-52 was bigger at scale 1/72!

Impressive photo; it is not easy to get a good photo within such a narrow space.

great responses here...I've never been in one of these, but when I was younger, we went into the interior of a WWII tank, and man was that cloistered. It was amazing how close it was in there, with that little slit to see out....you really got the feeling of how enclosed you were, and how helpless you were if fresh fire hit the tank. Also you could bang your head pretty badly if you didn't know what you were doing. It must've been the same inside one of these B29 chambers. You captured the cloistered, tight feeling of the place, and the feeling that if something hit one of those bombs, it's over. (Someone commented on that, above.) Another well done aviation interior...
