Description

Young Prince Mathias has ambitions greater than his Father, the King of this small country. The country, being an island kingdom, is barely known to the larger world and thus the treasury is sparsely populated with coinage. Most of the commerce comes from local barter among the populace for goods and services. The King wishes the country had a better economy. But, he hasn't had the ambition to do much about it, much like most of his ancestors. Along comes the Prince and things are about to change. After listening to his Father lamenting the sad state of the country's affairs, the Prince has hatches a plan. Currently, all they know of the rest of the world is what has been described to them by traveling minstrels and a very few curious occupants of ships that happen to stumble upon their small seaport on rare occasions and the very few members of the populace that have ever left the island and returned. Prince Mathias says this needs to change! After bringing the country's general overseer, Duke Arctavian, into meetings with his Father and Watson, the King's chief adviser, it is decided more solid knowledge is needed of the world outside. Prince Mathias and Duke Arctavian are appointed to be emissaries for the country in an exploratory mission. The Duke is the only one of them that has ever been outside the country. He was gone for several months and came back with many astonishing tales of his adventures. As luck would have it, a rather large battle ship has crippled into their port and is making repairs at their dock. It was caught in a storm and nearly sank before finding their port. The ship's captain travels around the country seeking the materials needed for repairs and perhaps discover some items of interest that can be traded back at his home port. While the captain is doing this, his first mate has been left in charge. Prince Mathias and the Duke talk to him and make arrangements for passage on the ship in exchange for all the supplies they will need to make their repairs. When the captain returns, he is overjoyed at the good news from his first mate. Before long, the ship is ready to depart. A good assortment of the islands produce has been delivered to the port and is being loaded onto the ship. The King grants a couple of the nobility permission to accompany the Prince on the journey. The day arrives for them to depart and everyone gathers at the dock. The Duke and Prince Mathias travel down the dock to the gangplank to board the ship just as the captain steps off it. Much to the Duke's surprise and pleasure, the captain of the ship is a good acquaintance he made when he was on his other trip off the island. This certainly bodes well for their mission. Soon, the Duke and Prince Mathias are in an animated conversation with Captain Andreas while the ship's crew finishes loading the ship. Once everyone is aboard, the Captain gives the order to leave the port and hoist the sails. The adventure begins! M4 and the Dude 2 characters. Rendered in Poser 11.1 pro. Post work in Photoshop 7. That poor character in the background, he later goes on to invent the dockside crane, but too late for his back.
