Description

Falsely accused by her jealous catamite brother; cynically tried by the conniving and avaricious priests; Ulsamoon was sentenced to be entombed alive and all reference to her being eradicated. Her only solace at this time was a wandering Akkadian mystic her brother allowed to see her. "He is a powerful magician so perhaps he can magic you away," her brother laughingly teasingly. The mystic, however, was but an old soul, a fatherly figure, capable only of soft and reassuring words. He was but a man and could not save her. She humoured his concern nonetheless, imbibed his potions wishing all the while they were poison and joining in his complex incantations in the hope a creature of Horus might whisk her away. Nothing changed, save the onset of an ailment whereby she couldn't stand sunlight and was assailed by a strange thirst for tannic liquids. She was obviously dying from some rare affliction, albeit slowly. The dread day arrived and she was led away. The mystic used his robe to shield her from the piercing sunlight and continued to chant his incantations even as the sarcophagus lid was pushed into place. Ulsamoon did not scream, or cry out. She refused to give her brother the satisfaction. Quietly she cried herself to her last sleep. She awoke refreshed to find her tomb cracked wide open as though smashed by some mighty axe, or hammer. Rising, she stepped from the wreckage and made her way towards the cave entrance. At the cave threshold, Ulsamoon was pleased to find the dawn light touched her skin once more like the soft warming caress of a lover. She smiled and slowly licked her lips.
