This is such a beautiful scene...great palette...love the addition of the deer and birdie :) Trees in my neck of the woods have just started to turn...so much rain and too many cloudy days I think the trees were confused :)

Picking up where I left off...I was really blown away when this went up. It's so deep, deep, deeply red. And lots of orange-red. I know you live in NEngland (which has the most opulent falls colors on earth, and they last so long!), but this is like that times 20. Beautiful background---I don't know if it's a photo that you worked on, or what, but it's gorgeous, in both intensity, hues and texture. I love the deer relaxing back there, blending in. And the lighter leaves upfront. Then there's the woman---with a great gnarled walking stick, some beautiful what-looks-like metal shoulder work (I don't even know what to call that!), a glowingly red bustier (bustier? right? her top?), you have red leaves on her pants/tights/skirt---they look like actual leaves, not embroidery or prints---and a mix of cape and wings, also in that deep crimson red. Looks like she's got a ponytail that could reach New Hampshire, and beautiful ballet-like outstretched arms. With a lot of light behind her...Really, this is magnificent, Barb. And, as we look back, it's great to see the dark tree trunks in the background, as dark accents in all that red and orange. Beautiful, Barb. I wish it were still fall just to see a scene like this once more...
(* re her pants: Can't tell, in zoom, whether those are pants or a skirt---either way they set off the red beautifully, and I love the leaves on them!)
