Description

Here we see an 155 mm (6.1 inch) gun on his transport carriage. Now in 1914 the German army had 42 cm guns (the 'big Bertha's) The later 'armored' forts couldn't resit those guns they where made from concrete, forts 1 to 8 where made from bricks so ... Still fort 2 did fire in anger during the first world war during one day. Then it was abandoned by then it was clear that holding the 'National redoubt' of Antwerp was not feasible.
